Net-Zero Lab encourages students and young professionals to submit their innovative ideas with potential to address climate change mitigation and adaptation issues by September 15, 2024. Projects involving female entrepreneurship will have the added benefit of receiving expert consultations from the Female Entrepreneurship Lab to explore commercialisation and implementation opportunities.
The Climate Change Summit Awards are held within the framework of the Climate Change Summit, the largest event in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) dedicated to tackling climate change through innovative solutions. This year’s summit will take place from October 15-17, 2024, in Bucharest, Romania.
The Awards aim to recognise and reward the most innovative and practical ideas and solutions in the region. In addition to the Energy, Mobility & Construction category, this year’s awards will feature several other key areas, including Circular Economy, Food & Agriculture, Environmental Education, Biodiversity, and a special CEE Award for submissions from countries within the region. The jury’s evaluation process will take place in September, and the winners will be announced on the first day of the Summit, October 15, 2024. Participants in the Summit Awards will have the opportunity to gain valuable exposure, expert feedback, and access to €12,000 in grant funding. Moreover, shortlisted solutions will be featured in a comprehensive report mapping sustainable business initiatives in CEE, showcasing the region’s innovation and diversity in tackling climate challenges.
We are proud to announce that Assistant Professor Dr. Mariya Trifonova, Deputy Director of Net-Zero Lab, has been invited to join the esteemed jury for the Climate Change Summit Awards in the Energy, Mobility & Construction category.
As a jury member, Dr. Mariya Trifonova will review and evaluate innovative sustainability ideas and solutions submitted by young individuals (under 30) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE including Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and the Republic of Moldova). The Energy, Mobility & Construction category focuses on groundbreaking solutions that reimagine energy production and consumption, promote sustainable mobility, and foster green construction practices. This category also aims to highlight projects that reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and accelerate the adoption of renewable energy sources.
Driven by her expertise and dedication to sustainability and innovation in the energy sector, Dr. Mariya Trifonova is extending an additional and unique opportunity to entrepreneurial ladies with innovative ideas through the Female Entrepreneurship Lab, an initiative within the Net-Zero Lab at FEBA. The Female Entrepreneurship Lab will provide business model consultations and assistance in exploring funding opportunities for projects submitted by women, particularly those focused on energy and climate action, even if they are not shortlisted for the award. Through this initiative, the Lab reaffirms its commitment to supporting female-led innovations and ensuring that all impactful ideas have the opportunity to succeed.
