The Department of Industrial Economics and Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski) has been actively establishing its leading role in education and research in the field of climate neutrality. To further its activities, the Department initiated the establishment of the “Applied Research in the Field of Carbon Neutrality Transition” Academic-Research Laboratory (Net-Zero Lab). In collaboration with business and industry partners, the Lab aims to conduct techno-economic research applied to new technologies and business models to achieve carbon neutrality goals in the energy and industry sectors.

The lab’s research focuses on the following three research areas:

Recognizing the crucial role of the private sector in the successful implementation of net-zero carbon emission initiatives, Net-Zero Lab is open to partnerships with public and business organizations. In the long term, we believe that the established platform will serve as a conduit for technology transfer and a catalyst for initiatives in clean energy, the transformation of industrial processes, and the improvement of supply chain sustainability.
Become our partner to leave a lasting impact on innovation, clean energy, and sustainable societal and corporate practices. Together, we can build a greener and more sustainable tomorrow!
