Informed Consumer Choice
The forthcoming full liberalization of Bulgaria’s energy market will require comprehensive changes to existing energy laws, including provisions for gradually removing regulated electricity prices for residential consumers until 2026. A transparent and accessible framework is essential for the protection of the large share of vulnerable consumers in the country.
To facilitate this transformation, Net-Zero Lab is launching an educational campaign to raise awareness about consumers’ rights and roles in a fully liberalized energy market.
Through educational videos and interviews, the campaign aims to provide consumers with knowledge and tools for navigating the liberalized energy market, including selecting providers, understanding tariffs, and exploring renewable energy self-generation. The campaign also focuses on social protection mechanisms, such as subsidies and price caps, to support vulnerable consumers.
